Google Page Experience Ranking to Come in Desktop Search Results

Recently a Google representative announced in a Google I/O talk, Google page experience ranking is going to update for the desktop search results along with the mobile search results. Though last November Google announced that it is going to count the page experience signals in search ranking from May 2021. Then it was understood the impact of the page experience ranking was limited to mobile search results only.

Jeffrey Jose, a product manager on Google Search, announced about this during a session on preparing for the Page Experience update from Google I/O in May 19, 2021.

Today I am happy to announce that we are bringing Page Experience ranking to desktop. While we're launching Page Experience on mobile soon, we believe page experience is critical no matter the surface the user is browsing the web. This is why we're working hard on bringing page experience ranking to desktop.

Google is continuously trying to deliver the best possible user experiences to its users. As part of it, Google is introducing the page experience signals in search ranking to ensure people get the most helpful and enjoyable experiences from the web. People have different expectations and experiences when visiting a desktop website compared to the mobile website. Because a webpage renders differently in desktop computers compared to the mobile devices. Google will try to meet the user's expectation for all devices and is bringing the page experience update for both desktop and mobile pages.
