  • Each PPC campaign should focus on only a specific product or service area of your business. Structure your account according to your website category and sub-category, separate your PPC campaigns by the product lines or theme group that your website is offering.
  • Consider to targeting at least three ad groups per campaign. The number of ad groups you need will vary according to products or services offering of your business but sticking on a minimum of 3 ad groups per campaign will ensure your account is organized with tightly themed.
  • Each ad group should be more specific and focus on a subcategory of the main campaign topic. Target each ad group with tightly themed keywords for a particular product or service of your business.
  • Research business specific keywords and include them on each ad group. A small list of carefully targeted and organized keywords are far better that a large group of un-organized keywords. This also helps to write specific ads to each ad group. Consider using between 5 and 50 keywords in each ad group but it may vary depending on your business goals. Discover less competitive but profitable keywords using Google Ads Keyword Planner and other keyword research tools.

  • Run multiple ads within each ad group with different titles and various call-to-action (CTA) phrases. Track performance of different ads variation and find out the best performing ads that are profitable for your business. Using an average of 2 to 4 ads in each ad group is ideal practice for any PPC marketing campaign. Adwords system will rotate your ads automatically if you have more than one ad in each ad group and the system delivers the best performing ads more frequently for making your paid advertising campaign profitable.
  • Each ad text should perfectly match to the corresponding keywords lists in each ad group. Also relevant ads text will enhance better user experience for your website and increase return visits.
  • Include specific keywords into your ads title and description modestly for making your ads more relevant to the users. Even consider for using dynamic keywords insertion feature into your Adwords PPC adverting campaign. This will decrease unnecessary clicks and reduce pay per click advertising costs.
  • Write your ads title and description according to Google advertising policies and make them compelling and relevant to your landing pages. Include strong call to action phrases for indicating potential customers about your business and clear them what type of action they can do on your site. Some call-to-action phrases are "Buy Online", "Call Today", "Sign Up Today", "Get a Free Quote" etc. Avoid using general CTA phrase such as "Click here", "Visit our Website" etc.
  • Include unique selling points into your ads text to get an edge over competition and make your ads outstanding. Consider for looking at your competitor's ads and try to make your ads different by highlighting your unique selling points.
  • Don't use same keyword in different ad groups or campaign in your Adwords account. Google Ads paid advertising platform only rewards one ad per advertiser account for a single keyword to show in the paid search-listing page when the keyword is triggered. Using same keyword for several times will compete each other and increase competition & cost per click (CPC) costing for getting listed in sponsored search engine result pages.
  • Measure user engagement metrics, website goals & conversions from the Google Ads using Google Analytics and other web analytics tools. Link Google Ads and Google Analytics account to measure your advertising ROI and analyze the traffic from Google Ads with some important KPIs.
  • Monitor your PPC campaign performance and review various Google Ads statistics regularly. Always check ad's & keyword's click through rate (CTR), quality score, keywords status, keywords performance report, ads average position in paid listing, keywords first page bid estimate, users search query report etc. Refine ad groups keywords list, adjust CPC bids, apply different keywords match options etc. and track performance accordingly for each change.

  5. Nice list! PPC advertising can be so overwhelming when someone is first starting out. The only thing that I can think of adding to this is to caution people about letting their PPC ads show up in Google's display network. (I think this is the fastest way to waste a lot of money quickly with PPC.)

I don't think everyone realizes that with the display network, their ad can appear on any blog post that has the keywords you're bidding on. I much prefer that my ads only appear when someone is searching.

actually it depends on campaign targets and business goals. If your target is to reach the largest potential audience then you should target display advertising in addition to Google search advertising. But anyone can control the display advertising bid according to needs. Even you can consider CPM campaign model for display network.

    thanks all for interaction here.

  12. Hello Friends,
This is a really interesting concept of PPC Advertising. Pay per click advertising gives website owners the chance to turn an immediate profit from search engine traffic. Every time a visitor enters a search term an invisible auction takes place on Google's servers. Google determines which advertiser appears based on a formula weighting the advertisers maximum bid against their ad's Quality Score. Thanks to share it....
